- Need to economise (save money, do not overspend, budget properly)
- Seek new ways to do things, and undertake new programmes
- Importance of keeping weekends free for enrichment programmes, hence activities like kayaking and rock climbing courses and activities will be put on hold, while we focus on more important things (year end OT)

- Need to contact everyone from 1st to 23rd batch, and get their reply, need to also update their contact details if any changes (look through files in ODAC room, this could take a month)

- Combination of service learning and adventure (conservation project cum adventure trip)
- Kanchengjunga in Sikkin, 3rd highest mountain in the world
- Aims to take on the idea of ecotourism, but lack the means to
- Our role is to research on ecotourism to aid their development, come up with relevant materials using our expertise (e.g. website, take photos and label and classify, collect information and put it up nicely)
- Service objectives: to help them publicise? What do you want to help them achieve? What do you want to achieve? Is it sustainable? Can we hold continuations of similar projects?
- Learning objectives: something to ponder about as a batch
- Estimated cost: $2000, but looking into searching for aids by National Youth Council
- NYC can fund 50% of trip and send us for service-learning workshops where we can get certification (Singapore Adventure Leaders’ Training, First Aid, etc.)
- Infrastructure: tourist information centre, brochure and publicity material, research on Singapore tourist information centre (what information do they put up and how), other countries with developed ecotourism (Malaysia)
- Operations:
Accommodation – base camp, visitor information centre, trekkers’ club
Duration – 18 days, may leave even before school ends
Climate – 0 to 5 degrees Celsius
Budget - $1000 (flight, food, accommodation, insurance), need to find out cost of gear (thermals, thicker sleeping bags), budget for meals (cooking is more hygienic)
